6th day of thanksgiving giveaway: chocolate covered joe joe's

On the 6th day of Thanksgiving tired supergirl's friends and aquaintances who donated lovely items gave to me -
chocolate covered Joe Joe's,

cute Bonbon charms,
a very sparkly reindeer,
a very snuggly sleep sack,
Everyday Grace note cards,
and Sara Groves new Christmas CD.
So I went into Trader Joe's because it is one of my most favorite places to be.
And lo and behold, there were Dark Chocolate Covered Peppermint Joe Joe's with Candy Cane sprinkles on the top.

And I began to sweat a little. All of that chocolatey minty goodness in one box.
I filled the rest of my cart but really could no longer focus.
Because of the Dark Chocolate Covered Peppermint Joe Joe's with
Candy Cane sprinkles on the top.
And as I pulled my cart up to the register, the cashier looked at the Joe Joe's and looked at me and I looked at her and she said,
"Oh, no you didn't." And I said,"Yes...yes, I did."
And she said,"What are you doing to me? I've never seen these before."
And I said, "What am I doing to you? What is Trader Joe's doing to me?
They are taking me down. I am going down!"
Because who could resist a Joe Joe like that.
Then her friend came and started bagging and the cashier said,
"Have you seen these? Go get us a box. We are going to try one."
And I, emboldened by the thought of all that pepperminty chocolatey goodness said,
"What about me? I brought them up here."
And my best friend in the world Trader Joe's cashier said,
"Oh yes, you will have one. We are going to share them with the customers."
So I looked in the lady in line behind me and said, "You picked the right line!"
And right there in the midst of groceries, that lovely cashier started handing
out Dark Chocolate Covered Peppermint Joe Joe's with Candy Cane sprinkles on the top.
And it was if the Christmas heavens opened up and reigned down joy and loveliness
and God blessed us everyone. I heart that Trader Joe's cashier. I really do.
And I just can't keep all that Christmas love to myself.
So put your favorite Christmas cookie in the comments, people.
And then when you try these....you will change your mind.
Because your new favorite Christmas cookie will be Dark Chocolate Covered Peppermint Joe Joe's with Candy Cane sprinkles on the top.

Comments close December 1. Winners will be announced December 2.

See how I am the first one to comment when there are cookies on the line? Not a coincidence. Favorite cookie has to be frosted sugar cookies. So yummy, but they take so long to make. That's why I don't get them very often!

Oh MY! I am going to Trader Joes right after I get dressed!
My favorite christmas cookie is SPRITZ! I loved to make them, eat them and give them away. People always get excited over them and say "Oh I love spritz cookies ,but mine never turn out, how do you do it, and their so pretty!"
"Well, I love the dough first, and then I have coffee with the gun and we talk about all the pretty cookies we'll make, then I have a talk with the oven..." They totally think I'm kidding. I'm NOT! That's is why my spritz turn out!

I love TJ even more now that I know they carry these little beauties. My favorite cookies are these yummy little brownie-like cookies that I make witha a treat pressed into the middle, like a mini Reeses cup or a mint 3 Musketeers. So good.

Peanut Butter Kiss Cookies, hands down! Yum!

Raspberry cookies. A layer of raspberry sauce (butter, sugar and raspberries), chocolate, and a crust cut up in bars. So yummy. I've been thinking of making at half hour drive to Tracer Joes to get some Joe Joes.

I want these.
I want these.
I want these.

I bought 8 boxes of regular candy-cane Joe-Joe's and passed them out to friends based on your evil - I mean - kind recommendation and I have been devouring them. I have never seen this kind and I am in love with dark chocolate! Crossing my fingers here in Indy!!

Oh my goodness - I have never heard of Trader Joes - are they on the East Coast - Oh, I must win these just so I know what they are - they look divine! It seems I am really missing out!! My most favorite cookies are the soft and chewy molasses cookies hot out of the oven - oh wow - I can eat them until I get sick!! =0)

How do I pick just one?

Usually, it's the PB cookies with the kisses on top. But last year, maybe because I was hugely pregnant and thus my body was not my own, I could not stop eating the cut-out butter cookies with frosting.

I had a similar thing happen to me at Trader Joe's. We were buying edemame, which my kids love, and the cashier remarked that her kids also can't get enough edemame. To which I replied, "So have you tried the dark-chocolate-covered edemame you have in your candy area?" And she looked at me aghast and called IMMEDIATELY for someone to go NOW and scout out such a delight. And then she opened them and we all sampled and agreed that ANYTHING covered in TJ's dark-chocolate is a winner. Even edemame.

I have never even heard of Trader Joe's! I'm dying to go to one now :) I think my favorite cookies are probably chocolate chip...but these look absolutely delicious!

I love these cookies that my father-in-law makes. They're little pillows of buttery dough stuffed with cranberry goodness and then drizzled with port-wine icing. So good, that I now must go call him and get the recipe!

And I have way too many favorite cookies, but I'll go with Nanaimo bars for now.

um okay. what about your hilarious message on my phone after sampling these last night. "lindsey. i don't want to lead you astray, but you must go to trader joes." love it. love you. would love you even more-is that possible--if your random blog calculator picks me to be the winner in this contest.

hmmm.. lots and lots of favorites. I make and give lots and lots of snickerdoodles. And I love the chocolatey, peanutbuttery, oatmeal no-bake cookies too. And peanutbutter with chocolate ganache. Too many.

But wow, those sound so good! I've heard there's a Trader Joe's not too far from here (like within an hour).. I'm going to have to find it very soon! I love that they're so willing to open and share.. and just think of how many mouths you made smile just in that store that day.. and now how many mouths are watering at the thought!

My favorite cookies to make, that it seems I only make around Christmas time...which is probably good because I LOVE them! - are the ones where you put peanut butter between 2 Ritz crackers and then cover them in melted chocolate! They are sooooo good!

But the Trader Joes cookies sound just as good, if not better. And the only thing I like better than chocolate, is chocolate and peppermint together!

I love Trader Joes and dark chocolate. These cookies are the BEST!

Hmmm....I really love my mom's pecan-powdered sugar lacey and light cookies. Don't know what they are called!

I've never heard of Trader Joe's! Do they have these in Georgia??

Dark Chocolate and pepperming-sign me up. My favorite christmas cookie is pretty basic- I am perfectly satisfied when I have a tray of homemade rice krispy treats.

Cookies! Oh, I just love the good ole traditional chocolate chip straight out of the oven with a nice cup of cold milk. There is something nice about the smell of freshly baked cookies filling the house.

with blessings,

Minister Mamie

My sister-in-law LOVES Trader Joe's because her family has food allergies, but I've never been to one! :(

My sister in law Sue gave my hubby these last year for his birthday and they were to die for! I do not have a trader joes. It would be fun to win.

I get I got busy during the jo jos blog day...or I am secretly avoiding the fact that I really do like these. In fact, I have purposely not bought them at TJ's the last 2 times I was there (I would eat the majority of the box, I just know I would).

My all-time favorite cookies are candy cane cookies that I make every Christmas. There is just a hint of almond extract and then yummy candy-cane goodness on top. MMM. As soon as Turkey day is over (though I am not rushing anything), let the Christmas games begin, and that includes candy cane cookies!!

Jenny said...

How is it possible to choose a favorite cookie? I love so many kinds...if I could only have one, I would have to say good old Nestle Tollhouse chocolate chip. My mom used to make fantastic oatmeal and crushed peppermint cookies at Christmas. They are absolutely delicious!

My mama's sugar cookies are my favorite (can't possibly recreate them, won't even try).

Oh my word - those look heavenly, a girl can't live without good chocolate.

My favorite Christmas cookies are any of the decorated ones - homemade and home-decorated, but they have to have plenty of icing. I read about the Dark Chocolate Covered Peppermint Joe Joe's and had to go get some because you didn't steer us wrong with the Candy Cane Joe Joe's last year. They are awesome!

Ha! Dark-Chocolate-Covered Peppermint Joe-Joes ARE my favorite!

My mom just bought 3 boxes of them and 3 boxes of regular candy-cane joe-joes... to send to the relatives!

But I am subsisting on my box of dark-chocolate covered peppermint Altoids for now.
