To let you know how the ride went, Will immediately started kissing the furniture when we got inside the house. One thing about long road trips is that they give you a fine appreciation for arriving somewhere.....anywhere....but especially home.
The first load of laundry is in and the coffee is on and it feels good to be back.
It's hard to say what the most memorable thing was on vacation.
There was lunch at Sonic (means "chocolate milk shake").
There was the pedicure with Mom with the sea salt massage where they officially scraped off 3 layers of skin and left our calves feeling efferevescent and a little bit on fire until that evening (but very soft I'll give them that).
There was finding purses on sale for 75% off at Target, spreading them out on the floor like a purse carpet to choose and seeing the look of shock on passersby faces.
There was playing in fantastic pool/waterpark with the Foth cousins.
And the joy of backyard slip and slide parties and homemade ice cream.
And then there was the moment where a google alert came up on the computer when I was checking my e-mail.
The one that said that said book number #2, My Bangs Look Good and Other Lies I Tell Myself: The Tired Supergirl's Search For Truth is available for pre-order.
That would be where the screaming came in. Followed by high fives from Mom.
A head hug from Dad. A squeeze from Scott. Some jumping from me.
The children could have cared less....puh-lease.....they were on vacation.
It is still other wordly to me, coming face to face with my dreams of writing books turning into a reality.
Hence the screaming and jumping. I have not learned to act author-ly about it yet.
I look more like Will Ferrel in the movie, Elf, when he finds out Santa is coming to Gimble's department store.
Slightly wild-eyed, full of joy and I scare people around me a little.
It comes out March 2010 but apparently the demand is so great for my next book (at least 10 people want it....that would be my sisters and girl cousins) it is for sale now.
You can check it out on Amazon....the fact that it's on Amazon made me scream a little, too.
If you need to scream on my behalf (or just because you have so much laundry to do and you need an excuse to let out your frustation), go right ahead.
