barbie's coffee

While I was in Texas with my best friends from college, Barbie and Leslie,
I ate a lot of things as was duly noted in the post....i ate my way through Texas.
But being back in California, trying to get myself back into the swing of normalcy,
where I am not eating every 2.4 minutes and I have a small crew of children to herd
on a daily basis, I have had a hankering for one thing.
Barbie's coffe. I drank somewhere around 37 cups last weekend.
Somehow, somewhere, Barbie came up with a special blend of coffee while we were in college.
Coffee with a hint of hazelnut and cinnamon and some cream. Make sure to add cream.
And so this morning as I dragged myself out of bed to go sub at Addie's school,
I reached into the recesses of my cupboard and spooned out 2 coffees and a sprinkle of cinnamon into my drip coffee maker.
And as I sip it even now it is soothing my nerves and calming my spirit before I
head into my hectic morning.
Thought you might need your nerves soothed with a touch of Barbie's coffee this fine fall morning yourself.
Barbie's Coffee
1 large T french roast coffee
1 large T hazelnut coffee
sprinkling of cinnamon on top of the grounds
4 1/2 C water (the 4 1/2 line on your coffee maker.

Oh, LOVE your post and must add - I am now 46 years old and have JUST started drinking coffee. I have become a coffee-a-holic and it seemed to happen overnight! Your recipe sounds divine - thank you for sharing and tell Barbie - we thank her too!

Did someone mention scones?

Ok, you know me, am a coffee addict (it all began when I worked at this cute little coffee store in Arlington VA!). Had to try this out, but changed it a little: I used my French Press, and used some "Cowboy Coffee" instead of french roast, because that's what i had, and "Pumpkin Spice" instead of Hazelnut because a friend gave this to me. Sprinkled cinnamon on it and it was WONDERFUL!!!! You are right, you must have cream to go with it!
