Yep. You heard me. 7. Do you know how much deodorant this spring is going to require?
Mas. (Clearly, I am fluent in Spanish).
Somehow I know the good Lord is going to give me words to speak.
Because he has before and he is good like that.
And crazily enough, I am excited even though I am nervous.
And I am excited about this new book, too. It still seems pretty surreal!
So to celebrate the kick off of
My Bangs Look Good and Other Lies I Tell Myself: The Tired Supergirl's Search for Truth
coming out March 1, we're going to have a giveaway.
5 winners - 2 books each.
Why 2 books each you ask?
Because 1 is for you and the other is for your hairdresser.
The person who cuts your bangs. The one who makes you feel like a rock star.
The one who conditions your split ends and covers your gray. (maybe that's just me)
The one who holds your hair's well being in the palm of her hand.
I have had a bevy of wonderful women work on my hair...Dolly...Darlene...Leanne...who very recently did a fabulous job of making my hair look sleek.
It takes a lot of talent to make my hair look sleek ever since baby #3 gave me weird curly hassidic-looking earlocks when it gets humid out.
But I digress...put your favorite hair stylist in the comments and why you think she deserves a book for a chance to win.
Comments close Sunday March 7 9:00 pm. Winner announced Monday March 8.

My favorite hair dress is Cara who is a single mom of an 8 year old boy and her favorite t-shirt was a Christmas present from another TSG. It says, "Jesus loves me and my tattoos." That pretty much sums up Cara!!!
My favorite hair dresser is Karen. She is an older woman and everytime I get my hair cut and colored she teaches me something about the Christian walk (mostly pertaining to marriage) and I leave feeling spiritually fed as well as stylishly fed. Love that so I always go back.
I've just started going to a new hair dresser whose name is Tena. She is a very nice person and I think she needs to get to know Jesus. I can't think of a better way to start that conversation with her than to give her this book. Thanks for the opportunity, Sue!
Blessings, andrea
My favorite hairdresser is Victoria. She has been "cutting my bangs" and coloring my hair for several years now, b/c I taught 3 of her kids at our tiny Christian school. She does it as a ministry for me....and I ask the Lord to bless her for that!
May God BLESSSSSS your book sales, Sue!
Love from Patty
My favorite hair dresser is Irma. I first met Irma when her sister Laura was my hair dresser. Laura moved, so I started going to Irma. She's been my hair dresser for over 20 years. We've gone through many seasons of life together. She's a single mom of two children, one born with spinal bifida who is confined to a wheel chair. She loves Jesus and shares her faith with her clients. She recently became a grandmother. I hope I can bless her with your book!
Darlene Pacheco has been working with my hair for almost 23 years! When I get my hair done, I look and fell like a Rock Star! And at my age that's importante!(I'm fluent in espanol, tambien!)
My favorite hairdresser is Amber who went to beauty school to fulfill a dream and help her family financially. In the midst of school her husband left her and her three kids, the family business went bankrupt, the home went into foreclosure. She bit the bullet and finished school in record time; all the while trusting Jesus daily sometimes hourly to give her the strength to make it through. She too is a tired super girl who knows she can only be "super" because of Jesus.
Shannon is my fav. This would be awesome as she just gave me bangs....and only with her help can they look good! What a fun idea my favorite author friend!
Judy...because she knows what to do to my terrible hair to make it look great!
Julia covers my gray too :)
She suggested I try bangs (...what a great word!) my forehead just isn't that great :)
Erin, is the best! She was there for me as I was for her, (I promised to be her "model" for the NY state exam.... and she took 16" of my hair off after I left my abusive ex-husband). There were a lot of talks, and laughter, and crying etc. We challenged each other in Christ, and I love her. Thants it!
I like my hairdresser , I just don't like my hair! But its not their fault. I will keep having faith in their capabilities! BUt they do need Jesus, so I would love to be able to give them your book! I love you sue.
Her name is Kinsey. In her own words..."I don't know Jesus like you, but I'm getting close." Your book would be great for her.
Deb
My hairdresser's name is Kim. She cuts my entire family's hair and has done so for 16 years. She definitely does not know Jesus Christ as her personal savior. However, she does know that we are "church people". Your book would present a unique opportunity to talk to her about Jesus.
My hair stylist is Jackie. She & her husband are expecting their first baby in July of this year. She puts up with me being a little (a lot) on the picky side but she usually knows best & wins. She is a master of color and I can honestly say, only my hairdresser knows for sure.
Please enter 'us' in your book giveaway.
Blessings,
Cindy Woolard

shelly here, not Ben, When we have the money I visit my favorite hair dresser Sandy. However due to short finances we have resorted to our own bang cutting. Be prayerful ladies! This TGS definetly needs a makeover.
Kristi Barbo cuts my bangs. Her salon is a testimony to anyone who enters!
My favorite hairdresser is Ryan. He has done my hair for years, cutting, coloring, updating my style. He has taken care of me for years, even delaying his vacation once to do my hair for an important event. He recently opened his own salon and is trying to attract a variety of clients, having your book in his lobby would broaden the horizons for sure!
My favorite hairdresser is Julie. She is AMAZING! I have really long hair and she is the only one who knows just how to give the bounce and lift it needs.
Thanks for your book and website - this is just what so many of us need and I look forward to reading your new book!
My hairdresser couldn't read the book even if I won. Florencia is my local go-to-girl here in Carlos Paz, Argentina. Since you're obviously fluent in Spanish, can I assume you'll be coming out with a Spanish edition of your book? :-)
Seriously, if I win, I'd give book #2 to my first hairdresser: my sister. Who not only did a number on my hair when I was little but went on to become a bonafide hair stylist after high school. Before she went on to become a bonafide occupational therapist and then a stay-at-home-mom. Who still cuts hair for friends and family. Including sisters :-)
I haven't been to a real hairdresser in ages but the one who cuts my hair is my daughter, Kimberly.
My favorite hair dresser is Becky. I have been going to her for many years and she has become a good friend. She just made a special trip to my house to bring me a birthday present for my birthday today because she knows my husband died 2 years ago last week. She had her husband come pick me up one time this winter when the weather was bad and I had an appointment with her.She bought me the special God earrings and necklace for Christmas.
My favorite hairdresser is Shelley. She's fun, she's adorable and... she doesn't cut my hair :) She does, however, cut my daughter's hair, and she straightens it, even if it takes HOURS - and she doesn't complain. She makes my little girl feel like a princess
What a Super Fun Giveaway!!! I do hair :) Sooo.... I love my girls Jamie and Rachel....Jamie colors my hair and Rachel cuts my hair and they both LOVE to read so I hope I win just for them :) They Love the Lord and are precious women ~ Rachel is newly married and well, Jamie is pregnant for the first time :) after sooo much prayer!! I look forward to seeing who wins!
My favorite hairdresser is Elena. I don't even have to tell her what to do with my hair any more -- she just says "the usual?" I love that! She always asks after my boys and shares stories of her life and children. I think she would really enjoy this book.
My favorite hair girl is Fay! I'm so glad for a chance to brag on her - she's a talented, very hard-working, thoughtful, Christian mother of two, who has TSG moments, I'm sure - but is always an encouragement to me! Thanks for the opportunity to share my appreciation for her!
My favorite hairdresser is Laura Ross because I do feel like a rock star when she's finished with my hair! She's an amazing christian stylist who owns her own salon in Willow Glen,CA Cielo (Heaven). She calls her ministry, "her chair". Great listener and impacts lives everyday in the conversations she has about life and God. She wrote a new book, Valley Girl turns 40. Congrats on your book!
Lucky for me, right now my husband wants my hair long which means I haven't cut it in several months. However as I go kicking and screaming towards 40 (and have the wonderful genetic trait from my mom of getting gray at an early age) I have had to start dying it. But lucky for me my husband helps me do the honors and even colors his hair sometimes as a dual project. So I guess I would say my hairdresser at this time is my husband and I can't thank God enough for having the best one (hairdresser and husband) in the world.
I recently discovered a new hairdresser, Stephanie, via a good friend I used to work with. Gone to her about 3 or 4 times now and have even taken both kids to her!
I absolutely adore Stephanie because I really feel like she LISTENS to me, is interested in what I have to say, be it about how I want my hair cut, or my life. She's INVOLVED in the conversation, I don't feel like she's ignoring and just "Um-humming" me. I bring a book every time since that's the only time I'm still enough to actually read for a bit and when I leave I always say, "Why'd I even bring this?" and she says, "You should know by now you'll never get to it 'cause we're talking so much!"
She's great! And I KNOW she would totally dig this book. Love ya, Sue!
