my bangs look good and other lies I tell myself just came to my house

I just got my first advance copy of My Bangs Look Good and Other Lies I Tell Myself: The Tired Supergirl's Search for Truth in the mail this past week.

I screamed outloud. And jumped up and down.
Because inside I am more like a 5 year old
than a woman who is kissing her 3rd decade good-bye.
In the midst of all the craziness with of life with 3 little boys, one large boy
(a 40 year old man can be considered a boy if he eats sugar cereal regularly),
a church plant, subbing, drying out carpet in our back room from flooding,
doing bills and trying to identify a certain smell in the oldest child's lunch box
(is it safe to put food in there? bio-hazard? can bleach cure that? what is it?),
a small padded envelope arrived in the mail.
And reminded me of that dream that I had of being a writer.
And the letters on the front of the book are shiny!
(5 year old girls like shiny things)
So I had to cry a little. Scott hugged me. He gets it.
Sometimes life is so crazy that you forget all the good that surrounds you
and the truth that God, in all of his wisdom and grace,
often lets us see our dreams become realities.
And I'm not going to lie...it's pretty fun!
So this morning, I'm going to forget about the laundry, and soak up the moment
by thanking Jesus for letting me write a book about his truth, the devil's lies and my lack of bang cutting skills.
Why don't you join me in eating a handful of chocolate chips
to celebrate the arrival of book #2?
(I know...I know...I often let my celebrations get out of hand...
maybe I should only eat a half a handful.)
Thanks, tsgs, for being a part of this writing journey!
It makes the chocolate taste even better.

Is it bragging if I say I got my copy last week too? And I might have squealed a little (although I doubt mine had the same intensity as yours). I'm so excited to start reading it. CONGRATS SUSANNA! YOU ARE A PUBLISHED AUTHOR! TWICE!!
