the important things in life

Yesterday afternoon we were walking through the parking lot in Target.
Jack, our 11 year old, turned to me and said,
"Mom, do you know what I want more than anything when I get to college?"
I pondered.
"Love and money?"
What more could a college student want?
Jack grinned. "I was thinking more like a laptop and a mini-fridge."
"Oh."
"Could you get me that when I go to college?"
"Done. I can totally get you a laptop and a mini-fridge."
I'm going to remind him when he's 18 that that's all he requires of me.
