please and thank you and thank you and thank you

These past few days have been the longest days of my life.
We almost lost my mom to cardiac arrest on Wednesday, May 22.
On Friday morning, we had a resurrection morning as she woke out of her induced coma.
I find I can't put words to all the emotions that have flooded my body these past days.
I am still too close. The fear, the despair, the anxiety, the hope, and the joy all seem to be
intermingled.
It will take some months of sorting to get it all straight.
But when I got the call that my mom was being air lifted to the hospital,
I couldn't find words to match the depth of what I felt and
my prayers were distilled down to one word.
To the God of heaven who holds life and breath in his hands.
Please. Please. Please.
In the hospital with my family, by her bed, kissing her hands, touching her face,
praying for one more day to see her and know her here on earth.
Please.
And then with a midnight call, the word came that she was coming
back to us. Eyes open, breathing on her own, wiggling her toes.
A bonafide miracle in the wee morning hours, my prayer became
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Every nerve in my body is singing a song of thanksgiving.
Buoyed by the love and prayers of thousands that went up on Mom's behalf,
we saw the glory of the Lord in a real and palpable way.
She is here with us because He made it so.
That is the only reason.
This morning I read this verse in the Psalms...
What I want instead is your true thanks to God;
I want you to fulfill your vows to the Most High.
Trust me in your times of trouble and I will rescue you,
and you will give me glory. Psalms 50:14-15
This Sunday morning, I am giving God my true thanks and all the glory.
Thank you for the hundreds of details that you orchestrated so that Mom was
not alone when she went into cardiac arrest.
Thank you for the profound expertise and care that Mom received from
the medical community.
Thank you that my family could all be with Mom.
Thank you for hearing the thundering cry that went up for Mom and
answering back with a mighty shout.
Thank you for breathing life back into Mom.
Thank you that Dad's heart and joy has been restored.
Thank you that my Mom has more years to be with her grandkids.
Thank you for the joy of holding Mom's hand and hearing her laugh again.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

I wish there was some sort of Google Earth pic that could only show all the candles that were lit for your mom representing all the prayers that went up. So glad for all of you.
